About the CAS Program

CAS is a 30-hour comprehensive hybrid program that prepares healthcare professionals to conduct effective, evidence-based accreditation surveys. Grounded in ISQua IEEA standards and ISO 19011 principles, this training combines technical surveying skills with hands-on practice through simulation exercises, tracer methodology, and real-case application, while strengthening key competencies such as communication, analytical thinking, and professional conduct. The program is designed to eliminate fear-based auditing and foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional integrity.

This program is intended for all participants irrespective of their cultural diversity, race, social or economic status. across different departments, with a specific focus on individuals involved in critical operational processes, quality assurance, and safety management. Supervisors, managers, and executives will benefit from advanced modules tailored to leadership roles.

Prerequisites or qualifications required for participation:

  • A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in the domain of expertise (special cases may be applicable)

  • A minimum of three years of professional experience in the domain of expertise

  • A Certificate in the field of accreditation, quality or auditing is a plus

  • Professional conduct

Mohammad Ftouni

Quality Management & Accreditation Specialist

Has 18 years of experience in the Healthcare Field. Is currently the Head of the Internal Audit Department and the Quality and Safety director at a Lebanese Hospital, and he occupies the position of the Accreditation Manager in Gates Group. He holds a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Management and Quality. His accreditation experience goes back to 1998. He managed the OPCV accreditation Process in several Lebanese Hospitals and participated in more than 45 trainings and workshops related to the Healthcare field.

Dr. Adel Oleik

Gates Managing Partner, Global

Provides healthcare management solutions for 25 years in MENA & GCC. Dr. Olleik is the Chairman and CEO of GATES Group, with multidisciplinary expertise in healthcare management, having handled more than 400 healthcare management projects across accreditation, consultancy, education, financial services, healthcare policy, outsourced management, and training.

Nahida Jomaa

Patient Safety Specialist

Directs and leads an educational project, as well as the auditing activities in Gates Group. Mrs. Jomaa gathers managerial and technical expertise and leads the Accreditation and Education Department at Gates, securing ISQua certification for its Surveyor Training Program. She has managed multi-faceted projects, including the national accreditation based on the Lebanese Accreditation Standards in governmental and non-governmental healthcare facilities, and participated as an assessor and a lead assessor in many hospitals. She received the Master’s in Public Health (MPH) from the American University of Beirut and the Health Administration Services (HAS).

Dr. Bassam Ghazi

Accreditation & Surveying Specialist

A Surgeon, healthcare management consultant, educator, and trainer. Dr. Ghazi has gathered practical and academic experience for more than 36 years in medical practice, training, consultation, and auditing. He is also an expert in the accreditation standards. He received his Medical Doctorate from Saint Joseph University in Beirut and got his Doctorate in Business Administration from the ESA and the Sorbonne University – Paris. He participated in drafting the Lebanese Accreditation Standards and was selected by the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health as a trainer for surveyors for the upcoming Lebanese Accreditation Survey.

Dr. Gemma Sayyar

Nursing Administration & Operations Improvement

Has over than 18 years of healthcare experience working in the areas of nursing administration, operations improvement, and management at a private hospital in Lebanon. She has demonstrated success in the healthcare field as both nursing director, trainer, and healthcare consultant over the years.

Rights & Responsibilities

  • Certificate of Completion is issued to trainees who fully attend the designated training dates, engage in hand-on practice simulation, field training when applicable, actively discussed cases, and pass the set examination or assignments and have the competency rate and the total rate as 2.6-3.5

    The CAS program is accredited by ISQua and recognized by KIMS. At the end of the program participants will get a 2-years Diploma from Gates and CME points accordingly.

    Certificate of Participation is issued when the trainees actively participate and engage in case discussion, hands-on simulations and presentation of ideas; however, without undergoing any type of examination and/or participate in field training when applicable.

    Certificate of Attendance is issued when the trainees attend the course materials completely, but without engaging in any type of cases discussion, studies, or doing hands on simulations or undergoing an examination and/or participate in field training when applicable

  • For certificates’ renewal, the graduated participants should either join an ‘Ongoing development session performed every 2 years, or submit an audit report to be evaluated by the Task force Committee, where the learnt skills and techniques are utilized.

    GATES shall not specify acronyms or letters in reference to the certificate for use after participants’ names

  • Trainees have to successfully complete all the requirements including the field visit report for the certificate of completion to be awarded.

  • In case of unsuccessfully meeting the requirements to be awarded the certificate, each case will be evaluated separately by the Training and Development Director (TDD). The TDD decides with the trainer on one of the following measures:

    • Make up exam

    • Repeat the training

  • All participants must respect all the private and confidential information that are therein presented unless otherwise indicated.

  • The participant acknowledges that he/she will receive a Certificate of Completion if he/she attends at least 80% of the sessions. For withdrawal requests, refunds are not offered.

  • The normative references of training techniques used is based on:

    • Kirkpatrick’s Four Levels Levels of Training Evaluation

    • GATES Training & Professional Development Management Procedures

  • The trainee presents in writing a request for appeal to TDD when he/she:

    • refuses the assessment results

    • requests a reassessment

    In either case the TDD evaluates the request with the task force members after discussion with the concerned party (ies) and informs the requester about the final decision(s).

    All participants must behave in the utmost respectful manner to the trainer and their colleagues. This includes code of conduct, cheating, and plagiarism.

    • The trainee has the right to issue verbal/written complaints on various matters that are related to the STP.

    • All complaints shall be handled within a maximum timeframe of two weeks.

    • All complaint resolutions and advice procedure and timeframes shall be communicated to the trainees.

  • The trainee presents in writing a request for appeal to TDD when he/she:

    • refuses the assessment results

    • requests a reassessment

    In either case the TDD evaluates the request with the task force members after discussion with the concerned party (ies) and informs the requester about the final decision(s).
